Activated Carbon Mats
The filter mat for various applications
The large-area activated carbon filter mat was specially developed for filtering contaminated gases and liquids. Main applications are e.g. rainwater filtration in soakaways or odor covers.
A wide range of different types of activated carbon, optimized for the specific application, can be used. In addition, other filter materials such as oil suction mulch, ion exchangers or zeolites can be added, making the range of applications very diverse.
The patented activated carbon filter mats consist of 3 fully bonded layers: 2 textile outer layers with a mechanically bonded activated carbon fill in between. This weighs approx. 1.0 – 3.0 kg/m². Since the amount of activated carbon is many times greater than that of conventional filter mats, and since the activated carbon surface is 100% open (no adhesives or resins are used), our activated carbon filter mat is extremely durable. In addition, the outer filter layers permanently protect the activated carbon from contamination.
The filter mats are very robust, well permeable to air and water, UV-resistant for years, flexible, foldable and rollable, and proven over many years. The maximum width is approx. 5.0 m, the total thickness between 8-13 mm.
